Nahed Habiballah received her PhD in Sociology from the New School for Social
Research in New York in 2015. Her fields of interest are Sociology of Religion,
Political Sociology, and cultural Sociology.
Nahed received a master’s degree in Human Rights & Democracy from the
University of Malta in 2006. She also received her master’s degree in Women’s
Studies from Eastern Michigan University in 2003.
Nahed’s research focused on Israeli and Palestinian identity, culture and power,
Jerusalem, embodied social structures and hegemony.
She has taught “Global Issues in Design at Parsons School of Design, NY, from
