Nahed Habiballah received her PhD in Sociology from the New School for Social Research in New York in 2015. Her fields of interest are Sociology of Religion, Political Sociology, and cultural Sociology.

Nahed received a master’s degree in Human Rights & Democracy from the University of Malta in 2006. She also received her master’s degree in Women’s Studies from Eastern Michigan University in 2003.

Nahed’s research focused on Israeli and Palestinian identity, culture and power, Jerusalem, embodied social structures and hegemony. She has taught “Global Issues in Design at Parsons School of Design, NY, from 2010-2012.

She was a visiting professor at the New School in the Spring of 2019; she taught a course on Jerusalem entitled “The Deconstruction & Construction of Jerusalem.”

She is currently a faculty member at the School of Graduate Studies at the Arab American University – Palestine (AAUP). She is also the vice director of the board of directors at the Center for Policy and Conflict Resolution Studies at AAUP.
