Garentina Kraja was born in 1978 in Pristina. She holds a BA and a Master’s in Political Sciences from Yale University. During the war [1997-1998] she worked as a journalist for Koha Ditore [Daily Time] and from 2001 to 2007 she was the Associated Press correspondent from Kosovo. From 2011 to 2016 she worked as senior political adviser of the President of Kosovo Atifete Jahjaga. Currently, she is an independent consultant and policy analyst, and an occasional lecturer at the American University in Kosovo. She currently lives between Pristina and Jerusalem.
